SETAC held its annual Fox Hunt on April, 21, 2012 at Spring Creek Park in Tomball, TX. The weather was just perfect for the fox hunt. The hunt started promptly at 10AM and the hounds were off and searching. It took approximately 1 hour 15 minutes for one of the hounds to locate the fox.

Fred (W0FCM), Lillian (KN5LRM), and Patrick (KC5VAE) were the ones that located the Fox. The prize was a 2M Kenwood HT that was donated by Houston Amateur Radio.

In route for breakfast before the Fox Hunt, Robert (KK5TC) had inadvertently modded his screwdriver antenna on his truck. It did not improve his signal or better his SWR.

Funny thing is at the time the picture above was taken we were unaware that this hitchhiker was still alive. More pictures of this antenna can be found in our photo gallery.

Due to service and disrespect by the Denny’s staff at (20015 I-45 N, Spring, TX, 77388) we will no longer be holding our meetings at this location. We also recommend all Amateur Radio operators to not give their patronage to this establishment.  The location for the June Meeting will be determined at our next meeting.

After the meeting and the test session that was held on December 10, 2011 I had a chance to take a few pictures of Kerry’s (AE5JY) truck that is all dressed up for the holidays.

On October 22, 2011 SETAC held the annual BBQ for the members of the club. The main entrée was Brisket cooked my club president Robert (KK5TC), BBQ chicken and smoked sausage prepared by Mike (KB5LKE). The members who attended brought fabulous tasty dishes that ranged from sides to deserts. The event was also blessed with great weather to be able to sit outside and socialize and have face to face QSO’s with members and their guests.

We also assisted Robert (KK5TC) with re-erecting is super loop that was taken down by an over zealous weed eater.

Looking forward to next years Club BBQ 2012
